Cadel Evans, 2009 road World Champion
World Championship medals for Evans, Tony Martin and Romain Sicard with Mavic.
Thanks to strong willpower and a great amount of energy Cadel Evans won the years most wanted title and became Road World champion.
The strategy of the Australian team paid off to push one of them to the title they have never reached before. Cadel knew the roads by heart because he lives close by and announced the course profile fitted his riding style. He proved that with his champion's qualities he can win a very fierce one day race (262km).
To take the win, the Australian made a decisive lone attack in the last climb. He used the extremely light and stiff Cosmic Carbon Ultimate wheels to their full advantage during his explosive accelerations and his search for speed where aerodynamics and power transfer count.

Frenchman Romain Sicard also won the gold medal in the under 23 years category using Cosmic Carbon Ultimate wheels.

Tony Martin (DE) added to Mavic’s medal haul taking the bronze medal in the time trial. He wore the light and their stiff Zxellium yellow shoes giving him close and efficient energy transfer to the pedals.
