First stage win of the year for the Spaniard in Santos Tour Down Under in Australia. Winning the 5^th stage almost gave the Caisse D’Epargne team member the advantage to win the final classification of the Australian race with only 11 seconds late on Andre Greipel and finally finished second overall the day after.
